Assisted Injection Device

The objective of this project was to design a device for a neurologist to perform assisted injections. The syringe was to be equipped with a very small 33G needle with an inner diameter on the order of 0.100 mm – which resulted in a very high injection force requirement on the order of ~ 80 N.

The design was completed by modelling a 3D printed clamshell enclosure in OnShape around a micro linear actuator. A basic electrical architecture was chosen for simplicity, by using 3 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries to power an Arduino Nano and an H-bridge.
