Numerical Modelling of Fins

I’ve been working on extensions to a numerical model of fins developed by Dr. Yanbo Huang in previous CTRC work. So far, I have modified the numerical model to provide extensions to model pin fin arrays in jet impingement cooling (which will be tested by another CTRC student, Alex Ceperley, on aluminum heat sinks). I have also used our fin modelling framework to predict the performance of ultra-low spacing skived heat sinks, which I plan to test in the near future.
